After its first five years, the American Silver Eagle had taken the numismatic world. Although the program wouldn??t hit the heights of 1987 again until the 20th century, the coin??s popularity throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s were unmistakable. Mintage ebbed and flowed later in the decade, but the 1990 American Silver Eagle was part of the trend for the coin series.

The iconic image of Walking Liberty from Adolph A. Weinman is on the obverse. His depiction of Liberty represented the nation??s drive toward a brighter future and was featured on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar from 1916 to 1947.
