On the obverse of Silver Canadian Maple Leaf Coins, you??ll find a regal, elegant depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. Created in 1990 by Dora de Pedery-Hunt as the third-generation portrait of Her Majesty, this design is unlike others in its use of more ornate jewels in the Queen??s attire.

For the reverse of the 1995 1 oz Silver Canadian Maple Leaf, they continued with Walter Ott??s original 1979 design of the sugar maple leaf. The maple leaf was floated as the national emblem for Canada in the Le Canadien newspaper in Lower Canada as early as 1836.
