This Silver bullion coin’s design is deeply rooted in American culture and legacy. The “Walking Liberty” design by Adolph A. Weinman, first used on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar from 1916 until 1947, is featured on the coin’s obverse. Because the public appreciated this classic design, it was reinstated years later on the 1 oz Silver American Eagle. The reverse shows a heraldic eagle with a shield on its chest grasping an olive branch in one talon and arrows in the other. “E Pluribus Unum” is written on a banner in the bird’s beak. 13 five-pointed stars, which stand in for the original 13 colonies, are shown above the eagle. The Great Seal of the United States is reflected in this picture.
